Carrie + Ben // Wedding Preview Part I // New Orleans Wedding Photographer

cb81

Saturday, March 2, 2013
So I have never done this before…broken up a wedding preview into multiple posts.  As much as I’ve been trying to edit these pictures down over the past few weeks, I still can’t edit down enough to put into one post. I really don’t think this is a bad problem to have!
Last week I gave you a little sneak peak of this lovely celebration when I showed you Carrie+Ben’s wedding rehearsal images.  Carrie has an amazing vision, loads of style and a personality to match and it shown through in every single perfect little detail.  Part 1 of their wedding concentrates on the beginning part of the wedding day (naturally) as both Carrie and Ben got ready at Race + Religious (read up on the neat history here!) and their first look and first few portraits. Over the week I’ll be featuring the rest of the wedding day in all it’s loveliness.  As I don’t have another wedding to shoot until later this spring, I actually think this shall tide you loyal blog readers over as well with a lot of fun posts.
So for now, enjoy the beginning of the day. I was swooning over Carrie’s dress and flowers and couldn’t believe how perfectly the walls and colors of the house lent to the feel of their New Orleans wedding.  I’ll be giving a full recap of the day along with links to all of the talented vendors that helped make this day so special in the final part to the day.

Carrie + Ben // Wedding Rehearsal

cb8

As a little teaser before the wedding day post…here are a few images from Carrie+Ben’s wedding rehearsal held at the lovely (more on this great venue later!) Race + Religious in New Orleans, where I traveled down to last weekend.

If you think these are fun, wait until their wedding preview post, which is coming up soon (editing the pictures down enough for one post is proving challenging.  Which is why this one I’ve decided should stand alone).

I am crazy in love with Carrie’s dress and shoes.  Amazing right?

Little Black Dress Bridal Shower >> with Hey Gorgeous Events!

dsc_5712

Can I just tell you all how much I’ve been looking forward to showing off these lovely images!?
Earlier this spring, the adorable and super talented Rhi from Hey Gorgeous Events collaborated with myself and Daisy of Pixel+Hank on a ‘Little Black Dress’-inspired bridal shower.  The result? Bright poppy colors, lovely models and a dream shoot. I was in happy photographer heaven!
If you haven’t had the pleasure of hopping over to Rhi’s blog, she gives a detailed account of our shoot with much much better writing.  So I am going to let you enjoy the pretty pictures and read more about it over on here.
Thank you also to the lovely wedding blog Green Wedding Shoes for featuring this earlier this week.  Enjoy all!

Carrie + Ben >> Engaged – New York, New York

ac1_6127-copy

Oh Carrie and Ben…you two have stolen my hearts!

So both of these two lovlies are from the Midwest.  They met in New York City. Are getting married in New Orleans. And just moved to Brooklyn.  They travel together, laugh together and love each other deeply. Spending time with these two reminds me once again how very much I love my job.

A few weeks ago I flew over to NYC and got to stay with a dear friend (hi Jen!) while exploring this city for the first time.  The day of Carrie and Ben’s engagement session, the skies loomed with rain.  And about half way into our session, the skies opened up and the rain poured down…just as we pulled up to start photographing at Central Park.  But rain or no rain it was one fabulous session.  We started out at the bar they met at and from there hit up some of their favorite spots…my favorite place on our NYC map was dinner at Sfolglia (anyone visiting or living there, go immediately and order one of everything) and then finishing off with a late night hot dog run.  A great first time in the city and a wonderful time getting to know these two! I am ecstatic for their wedding next year!
